Fresh, tasty and delicious. "Jen was delightful. People tend to discount the role of a good server in the enjoyment of a restaurant meal, but it means as much to us as the quality & taste of the food. Jen is extremely professional, subtle, yet warm and friendly. Definitely a keeper! Thank you!" -Mr & Mrs H. M., Customer Feedback Card, Thousand Oaks, CA, 12/27/2011 "Loved the server- Joanne. Sweet smile and made my B-day special. Food great!" -Amanda Y., Customer Feedback Card, California, 12/26/2011 "Our server, Garcia, was wonderful and helpful. He's a keeper" -Maria P., Customer Feedback Card, Los Angeles, CA, 12/25/2011 "The food was as good as the service. They served the best raviolis I have ever had as well as a duck two-way that was simply delicious. Food was around 45$ per person for an apetizer and an entree but it was well worth it. The waitress offered to help with the choice of wine and suggested an amazing red Syrah that we loved. 5-star rating for the food!!" -OpenTable Customer, Dined on 12/24/2011 "I love your food : )" -Ashley, Customer Feedback Card, Canada, 12/23/2011 "You wouldn't guess from the outside or the surrounding neighborhood, but this place has a sophisticated interior with a nice fireplace by the entryway and sky lights in the ceiling. The most ordered dishes are generally the pizzas, but I also enjoyed the sizzling brie that came with a nice fruity sauce and I felt the salads were pretty good too. The selection of wines is amazing and even the lower end ones are quite tasty." -Kim H., Yelp, Woodland Hills, CA, 12/23/11 "Do not change a thing. Notable for being a vibrant bar scene, neighborhood gem, notable wine list, romantic, hot spot. Five star rating." -Open Table Diner, OpenTable.com, 12/03/2011 "Consistently Outstanding for the Last Two Years! I recently visited the Wine Merchant Again - my boyfriend and I visit nearly every six weeks for lunch. There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful experience this is EVERY TIME. The food is spectacularly fresh - produce comes from local farms, and everything is always cooked to perfection. My boyfriend likes the roasted chicken with root vegetables - the chicken is moist and the vegetables are unlike anything I've ever tasted. I like the Salmon Salad (or as I like to call it, the "antioxidant salad"). It has fresh beets, salmon, spinach, marcona almonds, radishes, green beans, etc. It's fantastic. Also, the ambience is lovely. Aside from the occasional celebrity sightings, the decor is both chic and funky. The services is also very good, and the selecton of wines is excellent. If you are ever anywhere remotely near to Los Olivos, make sure you visit the Wine Merchant for lunch or dinner!" -"ockathylovesred",Trip Advisor, 12/1/2011 "Everything was amazing! Good memories for when I get back to Brazil!" -Camila S., Customer Feedback Card, Rio, Brazil, 11/30/11 "Food. Service. Wine. Sommelier - All A+! A wine friend from New York recommended we check this place out. I owe that friend a bottle of wine. Great food for lunch that was well-prepared with huge portions for the $. Service was very friendly and attentive. I was told it was off-season because getting a table was easy. The way they use fresh ingredients from the area is a big plus for me. Parm Gnocchi is to die for! I was in heaven when I walked in and saw more Santa Barbara wines than I knew existed. Friendly and knowledgable wine staff led by probably the most friendly and easy-going somm I have ever met. If you want to learn anything about wine, call the guy at the Los Olivos Cafe!" -Open Table Diner, OpenTable.com, New York, NY, 11/30/2011 "Outstanding service. Excellent food. We visited this restaurant during a "Sideways" tour that we did at the beginning of October. Much to our surprise, this is the restaurant that was featured in the movie. Great ambience with wood burning fireplace, spacious and excellent food. Gnocchi with fresh corn sauce was so good and different. My husband was asking questions about the soup and our server actually brought him a small serving to taste. Suffice to say, don't miss this dining experience if you are in the area." -"PeterandMarie304", Trip Advisor, Sarasota, FL, 10/30/2011 "Delicious and fresh and organic and hip! My boyfriend and I nearly died! Also we have to remember to *both* order the tri-tip sandwich. Still remains a fabulous destination spot! Only took 2 hours to get there and still the obligatory 3 to get back, but who cares? It's called staycation!" -Kathryn G., Yelp, Los Angeles, CA, 10/28/2011 "Went to the Cafe to celebrate an anniversary and a birthday, and to capture the experience of Jack and Miles in Sideways. Every dish I ordered was savory and captured the soul of wine country with earthy bases and all local ingredients. With all the choices on their by the glass menu, I was able to try many local wines to pair with each dish I ordered, though next time I'd love to share a bottle and walk back to the B&B down the road afterward. Truly a magical and intimate restaurant." -Lindsey, Google Places Review, New York, NY, 10/27/2011 "Great dinner, we will be back. Cheers!!" -Greg & Kelly C.,Los Olivos Cafe Customer Feedback Card, Oceanside, CA 10/27/2011 "Five-star rating! Food was excellent. Wine list is extensive and reasonable. Special features: fit for foodies, neighborhood gem, notable wine list, great for lunch. " -OpenTable Diner, Online Customer Feedback, 10/23/2011 "Superb experience! The restaurant exceeded our expectations in just about all categories. One reason we decided to book this restaurant was the price range of entrees was $30. We found the wait staff were very wine savvy (not unexpected). Overall it was a very enjoyable experience for the 4 of us and we will certainly recommend it to others. Five-star rating." -OpenTable Diner, Online Customer Feedback, 10/18/2011 "Such a nice place! Choose a good wine from the wall and sit, outside, on the porch, to see nothing! Calm city - really calm. Africa, Australia, S. America. We had several bottles of a very affordable wine from their specials list to go with dinner. Food was from fresh ingredients and well prepared. Clientele was a mix of locals and swanky folks from out-of-town. Easy to tell the difference by the shoes - just like in Europe! We met folks visiting from the mid-west and they were suitably pleased. We would come back again and recommend it to folks looking for a relaxed dining experience. They also have a decent beer list if you just need to wet your whistle." -OpenTable Diner, San Luis Obispo, CA, 8/18/2011 "Wonderful service & excellent food. The restaurant is fantastic, I finished every single bite of my food and both times they had something innovative, unique, and tasty on the menu. Service is good and I was served an excellent dessert for my birthday. I wish I lived closer; I would definitely go more often. I love how the Wine Merchant is connected to the restaurant; they have so many wines for every budget." -Amanda, Santabarbara.com Review, Santa Barbara, CA, 1-17-2011 "The Risotto was particularly "sublime" and the finest we have experienced ever, anywhere, including Italy.
